Kingsday

It's Kingsday today, well actually it's tomorrow. But as that is to be a Sunday, Holland celebrates it today :) I cannot remember the last time our country had a King, instead of a Queen. A Springweek Break...

It's the first week of springtime and in my garden Grapehyacinths have already started to flower. I noticed this when I was sitting at the kitchen table, finishing up a letter. Now I can see them clearly too, on our nature table. Mom's knitting a pretty green shawl. It's not a shawl yet but it's certainly becoming very pretty. As is the beautiful sight those small blue flowers make. Yet that joyful spring feeling is missing in my life right now.

Because I have not been feeling my best & our computer still refuses to cooperate. I decided to take a little break from blogging with you. I hope you have enjoyed our chats. I have REALLY enjoyed hearing from you! Thank you for your visits!!

Perhaps one day we meet again at Pale Rose cottage,
Jo's Daughter

Catching Up on a Spring day

Mom and I went for a walk this week, the sun was out and warmed our faces. Still early in the day, so it was rather quiet outside. Many people have been enjoying the Carnaval and probably just got back to work, back to everyday life. Yet dozens of things reminded me about the fact that just a few days earlier three colors covered the village in which our cottage stands...

Baking Blue news Away

It's been a strange week here at Pale Rose, the village got ready to celebrate Carnaval. Flags, balloons and silly costumes popped up everywhere. Cheery bright colors surrounded us, jolly music in the shops, yet we (my family) felt sad. Not because of the Carnaval parade (of which we take no part), but we got a call from a relative that was rather upsetting...

Simplicity is Best

At Pale Rose cottage, we ALL love the simple things in life. I thought to share a few with you today. We picked some flowers to put in a vase for our coffee table. Mom knows exactly what they are called, but right now I'm struggling to recall it. Can't ask her as she's busy right now writing to our friends J+H. They are a gorgeous yellow, look cheerful and Charlotte adores them (as do I) :D

She makes these colors herself, isn't that awesome. The wool was placed for safe keeping in said bag in the attic, because our Charlotte loooooooves wool :D

Dad's Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Dad, I called out early yesterday morning. Carrying a card, a BIG smile & a wriggling Charlotte.
